  • Election Day: In-Person Voting and Ballot Return Deadline

    Tuesday, November 3, 2026, is Election Day. Vote Centers across Los Angeles County are open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.

    Returning your Vote by Mail ballot:

    • In person: drop it at any Official Ballot Drop Box or any Vote Center by 8:00 p.m. on November 3.
    • By mail: it must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 3, and received by the Registrar by Tuesday, November 10, 2026 (within 7 days after Election Day, per California Elections Code § 3020). The county recommends mailing your ballot at least 7 days before Election Day.

    Remember to sign and date your return envelope.

  • Last Day to Request a Replacement Vote by Mail Ballot

    Tuesday, October 27, 2026, is the last day to request a replacement Vote by Mail ballot from Los Angeles County for the November 3 General Election — for example, if your ballot never arrived, was damaged, or you need it sent to a temporary address. A replacement request is a one-time request and does not permanently change your voter registration.

    • Email: votebymail@rrcc.lacounty.gov

    After October 27, you can still vote in person at any Vote Center through Election Day.

  • Vote Centers Open

    In-person voting at Los Angeles County Vote Centers begins Saturday, October 24, 2026, at select locations. You can vote at any Vote Center in the county — you are not limited to one assigned location. Vote Centers also accept completed Vote by Mail ballots, offer accessible voting, and provide same-day (conditional) voter registration.

    Countywide hours:

    • October 24 – November 2: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
    • Election Day, November 3: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Official Ballot Drop Boxes Open

    Official Ballot Drop Boxes are open starting Monday, October 5, 2026, and close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Ballots dropped off after 8:00 p.m. on Election Day will not be counted.

    Official drop boxes on the Peninsula (from the county's official list):

    • Palos Verdes Estates City Hall — 340 Palos Verdes Dr. W, Palos Verdes Estates 90274 — 24-hour
    • Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall — 30940 Hawthorne Blvd., Rancho Palos Verdes 90275 — 24-hour
    • Rolling Hills Estates City Hall — 4045 Palos Verdes Dr. N, Rolling Hills Estates 90274 — 24-hour

    "24-hour" boxes are open around the clock until the 8:00 p.m. Election Day close. Before dropping off, sign and date your return envelope. You can return your ballot to any official drop box in Los Angeles County, or to any Vote Center.

  • Vote by Mail Ballots Begin Mailing

    Los Angeles County begins mailing Vote by Mail ballots on Monday, October 5, 2026, for the November 3, 2026 General Election. Every registered voter in the county is mailed a ballot. Delivery times vary with the U.S. Postal Service, so your ballot may arrive a few days after mailing begins.

    You can sign up for ballot tracking at Where’s My Ballot or check your ballot status on LAVote.gov.

    If your ballot hasn’t arrived, you can request a replacement until Tuesday, October 27.

  • LA County voter registration deadline

    The last day to register to vote, or update your registration, for the November 3, 2026 General Election is Monday, October 19, 2026. Register or check your status at registertovote.ca.gov or lavote.gov.

    Missed the deadline? You can still conditionally register and vote at any LA County Vote Center from October 20 through Election Day, November 3.
